Fleur-de-Lis Suffer One-Run Loss at Tokyo
|
Tokyo Fitzies starter José Sánchez turned in a sterling performance against the Paris Fleur-de-Lis, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. In 6 innings, Sánchez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. The Fitzies raised their record to 43-30.
Tokyo shortstop Ari Lueger contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 53rd hit of the season and put the Fitzies ahead, 3-1.
"Every play was important. Every out was important," said Fitzies manager .
