Twice as Nice: Cairo Extends Lead to 2-0 With Walk-off Win
A big day at the plate from first baseman Sima Lovre was not enough to keep the Cairo Pharaohs from extending their lead in the League Championship Series. The Pharaohs topped Lovre and the Melbourne Meteors, 6-5, at Pharaohs Ballpark in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Lovre went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 in the loss.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Cairo second baseman Abdul-Tawwab Talib, facing Byron Williams, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Pharaohs the 6-5 win.

"I believe in our guys," said Cairo skipper J Stell. "I like the energy they're playing with."

The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 21st , 2154 at Meteor Crater in Melbourne.
