The Sao Paulo Toucans defeated the Puerto Rico Coqui, 7-4, at Toucans Ballpark. Sao Paulo catcher Rubén Ramos had a superb performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The winner in relief was Takuji Mochizuki. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. The Toucans now own a record of 38-36.

Sao Paulo took a 5-4 lead on Tekle Jalali's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Jalali hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Puerto Rico pitcher Ramón Chávez visibly frustrated.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Ramos.
