The Rio de Janeiro Jaguars got a good effort from starter José Torres in defeating the Havana Dolphins at Rio de Janeiro Grounds. The final score was 3-1. Luis Gutiérrez picked up his 18th save of the season. With the victory, the Jaguars record stands at 39-36.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Jaguars had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when right fielder Lich Huynh hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Yoshifusa Hasegawa and made the score 1-0, Jaguars. Huynh went 2-4 with 2 singles.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Huynh.
