Meteors Edge Monks, 4-3
|
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Ishtaq Abbasi, the Melbourne Meteors defeated the Daegu Monks, 4-3. Abbasi went 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times for the Meteors. The winner was Dositej Anastasijevic in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Kader Rassul took the loss. Daegu's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
The decisive blow was delivered by Sima Lovre in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Kader Rassul to win the game for Melbourne. The home crowd went nuts.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Abbasi said.
