Havana Loses, 7-5, in 12
|
The Santo Domingo Palmchats and Havana Dolphins put on quite a show.
The Santo Domingo Palmchats defeated the Havana Dolphins in 12 innings, 7-5, in part because of catcher Ramón Ornelas. Ornelas went 4 for 6 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Palmchats. Getting the save was Almas bin Abbud, his 1st.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 12th, until Ornelas delivered big-time for Santo Domingo, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Florípes Seguito. The game-changing hit put the Palmchats on top, 7-5.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Ornelas, "one at-bat at a time."
Santo Domingo now sits at 39-37, while Havana falls to 43-33.
