Emperors Topple Monks with Late Rally

Daegu got a valiant performance from pitcher Raúl Arce, but it wasn't enough to beat the Beijing Emperors. Beijing won the game, 5-4. Arce threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Picking up the save was Gia-Long Hoang. He's now 13 for 15 in save chances. Daegu has now lost 5 in a row.
Okura Ojima came through with a big-time hit for Beijing. The shortstop smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager R Beadle told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
