|
Getting a good performance from third baseman Wattas Mwenda, the Cairo Pharaohs defeated the Rome Generals, 7-2. Mwenda was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Pharaohs. Bill Horne was the winner. He's now 4-6. The loser was 32-year old left-handed pitcher Pierre Levasseur. With the win, Cairo has a record of 36-41. Rome falls to 37-40.
The Pharaohs got a big at-bat from shortstop Kaleb Ame. For the game, Ame was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Cairo a 3-1 lead.
