IBL Star of the Week Named Monday, September 27th , 2151 With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Melbourne Meteors first baseman Wes Robinson took the Intercontinental Baseball League by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors. "The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Robinson said to BNN reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere." The 27-year-old first baseman hit .542 (13-for-24) last week with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored. This season, Robinson is batting .372 with 5 home runs. He has scored 56 runs and driven in 43. |
