Great September Gets Alcova ABL Best Hitter Award Friday, October 1st , 2151 Johan Alcova, the El Paso Thunderbirds second baseman, certainly made his name known to Americas Baseball League hurlers over the last month. He consistently introduced himself with hit after hit and came away with September's Americas Baseball League Batter of the Month award. He slashed and bashed his way to a .383 batting average while tallying up 7 home runs, 18 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He also worked ABL pitchers for 11 walks and a .441 on-base percentage. This year, Alcova has collected a .272 batting average to date with 169 hits in 621 at-bats, 77 RBIs, 18 home runs and scored 107 times. He has played in 152 games. |
