Shanghai Loses SS Ramires, Suspended by League Sunday, June 28th , 2144 Lionardo Ramires of the Shanghai Emperors has been reprimanded and given a 3-game suspension for a shouting match with the plate umpire during a recent game at Buffalo Grounds with the Daejeon Monks. The Emperors shortstop said he didn't touch the umpire, but the umpire insisted he did. "I didn't see it, I didn't feel it," Ramires said. "I was trying everything I could not to make contact with him. The league always sides with umpires. There is no use to appeal." Thus far this year Ramires has hit .194 with no home runs and 3 RBIs. |
