Rippon Twirls 1-0 Shutout Wednesday, August 5th , 2144 In a seemingly effortless performance, Mayne Rippon of the Mombasa Chameleons shot down the Shanghai Emperors 1-0 on a 3-hit shutout. "Mayne was just locating so well and using his pitches," Mombasa manager said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate." Rippon recorded 7 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing. "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Shanghai manager said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him." To date this season Rippon has compiled a 5-13 record with a 3.32 ERA in 22 starts. |
