Cabrera Sizzles -- Smokes Coqui for 5 Hits Saturday, July 31st , 2151 The Ecatapec Aztecs stopped the Bayamon Coqui by a score of 9-7 at Ecatapec Grounds, with the lion's share of the credit going to third baseman Salvador Cabrera. The 28-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Cabrera said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Cabrera did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Coqui. "Not much that I can say," offered Bayamon manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us." Salvador Cabrera singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Thus far this year, Cabrera has hit .281 with 15 home runs and 64 RBIs. |
