Chapman Belts Bunch of Base Hits Friday, August 6th , 2151 It was a downpour of hits for Barry Chapman at Estadio Santo Domingo. The Santiago Caballeros left fielder tore into Houston for 6 hits in 9 at-bats to pace the Caballeros to a rain-delayed 4-3 victory. Houston manager bemoaned his pitching, speculating his club got flustered by Chapman's big day. "He was beating us and we stopped locating well," he said. "That makes you get behind in the count and you can't do that when a guy is hot like Chapman was today. Not to take anything away from him, but bad location was the story of the ballgame." Barry Chapman tripled in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, singled in the 10th, grounded out in the 12th, singled in the 14th, singled in the 16th and doubled in the 19th. This year, Chapman is batting .297 with 113 hits and 17 home runs. He has scored 57 times and has batted in 63 runs. |
