Toucans Hurler Moreno Tosses Masterpiece Thursday, June 8th , 2147 Luis Moreno led the Curitiba Toucans to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Bayamon Coqui at Foxes Ballpark today. "My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Moreno recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location." Moreno yielded 1 hit and had 10 strikeouts and 3 walks in the standout performance. "I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Bayamon manager said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching." Moreno has made 12 starts this season, posting 4 wins and 5 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .218 against him and he has 63 strikeouts in 77 innings with a 3.51 ERA. |
