Centurions Heading to League Championship Series Sunday, September 12th , 2151 In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Florence Centurions have edged the Adelaide Asteroids. The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Divisional Series, with a 7-4 win in the clincher being the difference for Florence and giving them the ticket to the League Championship Series with a 3-2 series triumph. "We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Aniceto Palmeira, who was named series MVP. For the series, Palmeira hit .389 with a .450 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Florence Centurions will play against the Shanghai Emperors in the next round. Shanghai won their series against the Faisalabad Hawks 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes. |
