Morales Slams 5 Hits for Sacramento Wednesday, July 28th , 2151 It was a sensational day at the plate for José Morales as he led the charge to a nifty 9-5 win over the Taimascaros. The Sacramento shortstop was pure misery for the Puerto Plata pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Morales put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said , manager for the Taimascaros, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." José Morales singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Morales is hitting .243 this season with 11 home runs, 47 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 82 hits in 337 at-bats. |
