González Blanks Tacoma Thursday, August 10th, 2119 José González subdued the Tacoma Emeralds, 3-0, pitching a 1-hit gem for the Vancouver Mounties at Empires Ballpark. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Vancouver skipper said afterward. González registered 7 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in his superb performance. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Tacoma manager after the defeat. His record this season is 11-8 in 23 starts and González has a 4.47 ERA. |
