Canberra Wins League Championship Series
Friday, September 17th , 2151
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Intercontinental Baseball League League Championship Series. It turned out quite a bit different.
The Canberra Comets swept aside the Bochum Foxes to advance to the AA World Series, winning the final game by a 8-2 score at The Homestead.
The series MVP was shortstop Ananthakrishanan Govindraj, who hit .429 with a .467 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.
"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
The Canberra Comets don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Puerto Plata Taimascaros - Porto Alegre Toucans series. Puerto Plata leads the series 2 games to 0. The AA World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
