Taimascaros Move on to AA World Series Sunday, September 19th , 2151 The Puerto Plata Taimascaros players celebrated joyously after winning the League Championship Series over the Porto Alegre Toucans tonight at Foxes Ballpark. Puerto Plata punched its ticket to the AA World Series on the strength of a 4-2 win in the clinching game, which sealed a 3-1 series win. "Any time you win a playoff series as a professional it's exciting, but it's even more so when you do it against a team like Porto Alegre," said series MVP Miguel Jareño. "We don't know how the AA World Series is going to play out, but we hope it has the same outcome." Porto Alegre manager only spoke briefly to the media after the loss and said dropping the series is "crushing" for his team. For the series, Jareño had a 0.00 ERA over 7 innings pitched. He added 4 strikeouts with a 1-0 record. The Puerto Plata Taimascaros will play against the Canberra Comets in the next round. Canberra won their series against the Bochum Foxes 3 games to 0. The AA World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. |
