Saturday, September 25th , 2151
It's party time in Canberra. The confetti is flying and residents are smiling.
The Canberra Comets have reached the mountaintop, capturing the 2151 AA World Series today. They defeated the Puerto Plata Taimascaros 7-1 at Estadio Santo Domingo to officially wrap up the series 4-0.
Asked how it feels to be a champion, catcher Sundaram Sanghi was to the point.
"It feels great, like a million bucks. I'm so happy right now, not just for me but for all the guys," he said. "We put a lot of work into this and deserve to be champions."
The team is planning a victory parade and fan appreciation day later in the week. Canberra finished the regular season 78-54 and claimed first place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Asian Division.
