Emeralds End Dand's Streak Sunday, July 12th, 2116 It was a doubly miserable day today for Lawson Dand of the Zapopan Aztecs, as he saw his 21-game hitting streak end and his team lose 6-2 to the Eugene Emeralds at Eugene Ballpark. The 21-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 2 at-bats by the Emeralds. "Anyone on a 21-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Eugene manager said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." This season Dand is batting at a .319 clip with 5 home runs and 37 RBIs. |
