Red-Hot Naboko Scorches Coqui Saturday, June 18th , 2140 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Shurochka Naboko of the La Romana Toros had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 10-2 win over the Caguas Coqui at Caguas Grounds. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 21-year-old third baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Shurochka Naboko hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th. Presently Naboko is batting .255 with 62 hits and 6 home runs. He has knocked in 43 runs and scored 41 times. |
