Cortéz Wins ABL-R Player of the Week Trophy Monday, May 1st, 2119 So far in his young career, Miguel Cortéz has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the ABL Rookie League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 24-year-old Sao Luis Jaguars catcher hit at a torrid .524 clip as he collected 11 hits in 21 at-bats, 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 4 runs scored. So far this season Cortéz has put up a .373 batting average with 28 hits, 2 home runs and 17 RBIs. |
