Recife Shuts Out Eugene, 9-0 Saturday, June 18th, 2129 Recife hurler Frank Conley put on quite a show today as he blitzed the Eugene Emeralds with a 9-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 2 hits with 13 strikeouts and no walks to pick up the win. "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball," Eugene manager told reporters after the game. To date this season, Conley has registered 12 starts, 10-0 won-lost mark, 2.64 ERA, 78.1 IP, 86 strikeouts and 29 walks. Opposing teams have hit .219 against him. |
