Coqui Take Tight Tilt, 6-5
|
Havana got a terrific game from first baseman Jean Lesage. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Puerto Rico, 6-5. Lesage went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Puerto Rico reliever Yoan Gérard was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Luis Rivera took the loss. The win gives Puerto Rico a record of 6-5.
The most significant at-bat for Puerto Rico came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth. Coqui left fielder Elliot Jerram hit a 2-run single to win the game.
"Exhilarating win," said Jerram.
