Falcons Topple Emperors with Late Rally
The Karachi Falcons had to overcome a fine effort from Beijing pitcher Kamal Rai to grab a narrow 6-4 win at The Bird's Nest. Rai went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Husien Karamera picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-3. He struck out 3 in 7 innings. Karachi, now 18-11, has played well in the early going.

Karachi used the clutch hitting of Gerald Holmes to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Falcons the lead, 4-3. For the game, Holmes had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Holmes said.
