The Rome Generals did just enough to sneak past the Nairobi Black Rhinos, 3-2, at Rhinos Ballpark. Rome pitcher Husain bin Sariyah, in particular, had a standout performance. In 7.1 innings, bin Sariyah surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Nairobi falls to 13-18.
Justin Boughey, who leads the IBL in triples with 5, aided the Rome cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop went 2 for 3 with 2 singles.
"We did enough to win," said Boughey.
