Coqui Lose to Thunderbirds, 6-4
|
Thao Trung left his imprint on the 6-4 El Paso win against the Puerto Rico Coqui. Trung, who is tied for 5th in the ABL in hits with 105, was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winner was El Paso reliever Xing-peng Tze, now 4-0. The loser was Britt Leonard. El Paso improves to 57-24 with the win. They lead their division by 9 games.
Carlos Saldaña, who is tied for 8th in the ABL in bases on balls with 52, aided the El Paso cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Trung.
