Mexico City and El Paso duked it out and the Aztecs came out victorious.

Mexico City first baseman Enrique Gallegos was a significant contributor in his team's 10-7 triumph over the El Paso Thunderbirds. He went 4 for 6 with 3 doubles. He scored 2 runs for Mexico City. Mexico City pitcher Steven O'connor got the win. He's now 1-0. Harvey Yeandle was tagged with the loss. Pedro Espinosa was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 18 save opportunities.

Mexico City used the timely hitting of Jessie Richardson to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Aztecs on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Square Drive.

The Aztecs sport a record of 33-54.
