With 4-1 Win, Beefs Go to 52-42
|
Chicago starter Vilfred Skou put a stranglehold on the Santo Domingo offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Beefs to a 4-1 win. Picking up the save was Kwan-yew Lei. He's now 10 for 12 in save chances. With the win, Chicago pushed its record to 52-42.
One of the stars of the game was Chicago second baseman Abbas Karani. In the bottom of the fifth with two out, he got a changeup from Pavlya Lazarenko and hit a solo home run. That made the score 3-1 in favor of the Beefs.
"I still think this team can play even better," Karani told the Chicago Gazette.
