Monks Get Clonked by Black Rhinos, 4-3
|
Monks Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Daegu Monks and Nairobi Black Rhinos.
The Nairobi Black Rhinos topped the Daegu Monks, 4-3, in Intercontinental Baseball League action at Monks Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Nairobi pitcher and Chicago, Illinois, native Paul Henry. Henry went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 4, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-6. Karl-Anthony Carpio was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 29 save opportunities.
The result might have been different for Nairobi, had it not been for Cheng-ho Tieh, the fan favorite . Tieh stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Nairobi up, 4-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We did a lot of things right," said Henry.
With the win, Nairobi upped its record to 48-47.
