Shogun Sneak Past Generals, 5-4
|
The Rome Generals and Tokyo Shogun provided some drama for the home crowd.
Rome wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher José Salazar, falling to the Tokyo Shogun, 5-4. Salazar threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Tokyo reliever Marcel Ledru picked up the win, upping his record to 9-3. Adrián Prado absorbed the loss.
The Shogun got a big hit from pinch hitter Lou Berg. In the top of the ninth, Berg smacked a grand slam home run off Rome pitcher Adrián Prado. It was his 2nd home run of the season. Suddenly, the Shogun were ahead, 5-4.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Berg.
With the victory, the Shogun upped their record to 56-45.
