Nairobi Black Rhinos pitcher Paul Henry whisked his team past the Beijing Emperors, 4-2. Reliever Tsu-wee Shih picked up the win. His record improves to 8-2. Kane Dunshea took the loss. Karl-Anthony Carpio got the save, his 24th in 31 chances.
Tutu Karim took Kane Dunshea deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 2-run home run put the Black Rhinos on top, 3-2. In all, Karim had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Nairobi manager J Stell.
The win elevated the Black Rhinos to 51-50.
