|
The Toucans faced a stiff challenge from Puerto Rico pitcher Shih-k'ai Tseng, but persevered to claim a win at Ballpark of San Juan. The final score was 2-1. Tseng went 9 innings and allowed 1 run. Sao Paulo reliever Angus Opie got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Yoan Gérard was tagged with the loss. The Toucans raised their record to 18-20.
Madidu Madraa, the 25-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Madraa contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 21st inning to put Sao Paulo up, 2-1.
