Santo Domingo second baseman Jack Mitchell had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Mitchell was 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Puerto Rico beat the Palmchats, 6-5. Damien Duval earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. With the win, Puerto Rico upped its record to 59-55.

Puerto Rico used a well-timed hit by Elliot Jerram to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Coqui ahead, 6-5. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Jerram said.
