|
The Los Angeles Stars beat the Gitche Gumee Fitzies, 4-3, in part because of first baseman She Feng. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Los Angeles pitcher Jörg Roskopf got the win, upping his record to 11-13. Shang-de Kan got the loss. Karl Rogers was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 11 save opportunities.
The game hit a turning point in the top of the seventh inning, when the Stars were trailing 3-2. Yunes Chekhemani delivered a two-out 2-run triple for Los Angeles, catapulting his team into the lead.
"I felt good up there," said Chekhemani. "I saw the ball well."
After today's action, Los Angeles sits at 54-66; Gitche Gumee slips to 50-70.
