Pilar Delivers Walk-Off Win for Beefs
The Chicago Beefs weathered a fine game by El Paso center fielder Thao Trung to upend the Thunderbirds, 7-6, at Beefs Stadium. Trung went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Chicago reliever Matt Gentry picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Qian-fu Luo took the loss. The triumph puts Chicago at 62-61 for the season.

Odílio Pilar was the walk-off hero for Chicago. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Beefs right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Pilar told the Chicago Gazette.
