Fleur-de-Lis Fall Short, 2-1, at Nairobi
|
The Nairobi Black Rhinos beat the Paris Fleur-de-Lis, 2-1, at Rhinos Ballpark. Starting pitcher Paul Henry was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. In 7 innings, Henry surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The victory gives Nairobi a record of 66-59.
Tutu Karim, who finished 5th in the IBL in home runs with 34 in 2144, helped out the Nairobi cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk.
"Runs were at a premium," said Nairobi manager J Stell.
