Falcons Upend Black Rhinos, 4-2
|
The Karachi Falcons topped the Nairobi Black Rhinos, 4-2, with left fielder Ala' Asad playing a big role. Asad was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Falcons in the win. Kamal Rai, the winning pitcher, improved to 7-4. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 6. Abracham Layar got the save, his 3rd in 4 chances.
With Karachi leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Asad hit a slider from Kent Martin for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Falcons ahead, 3-0.
After the game, Karachi manager Slu Baseball applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The win elevated the Falcons to 80-58.
