Sao Paulo Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Sao Paulo Toucans got the win.
The Sao Paulo Toucans had to overcome a fine performance from El Paso pitcher Dae-il Kim to grab a 3-2 win at Toucans Ballpark. Kim allowed no runs over 8 innings. Sao Paulo reliever Kunz Kulhberg got the win, raising his record to 3-3. Qian-fu Luo was tagged with the loss.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Sao Paulo trailing 2-1, Roushdy Nkosi hit a fastball from Qian-fu Luo to left for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Toucans had a walk-off win.
Nkosi called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
With the win, Sao Paulo raised its record to 85-55.
