Late Magic Gets El Paso 7-5 Win
The 7-5 El Paso win over Los Angeles was due largely to Ángel Fernández. The Thunderbirds right fielder was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. El Paso reliever Sixten Merschdorf picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Karl Rogers was saddled with the loss. El Paso has an impressive 99-43 record.

Fernández had a timely hit for El Paso in the top of the ninth. With Los Angeles trailing 4-3, he turned a full count sinker into a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 6-4, El Paso.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Fernández said after the game.
