Emperors Take Down Fleur-de-Lis, 5-4
|
The Beijing Emperors had to overcome a fine effort from Paris pitcher Mujtaba Mahmud Khel to grab a narrow 5-4 win at The Bird's Nest. Mahmud Khel went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. The win has Beijing at 55-88.
Asfour bin Nawfal was the walk-off hero for Beijing. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Emperors third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," bin Nawfal said in his postgame press conference.
