Fitzies Stop Aztecs, 6-1
|
Gitche Gumee Fitzies starter Vavrinec Simonovic kept the Mexico City Aztecs hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-1 win. Gitche Gumee now has a 3-game win streak.
Raymond Iannacone dealt the Aztecs a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Gitche Gumee leading 1-0, Iannacone, who finished 5th in the ABL in stolen bases with 21 last year, hit a 0-1 changeup for a 2-run double.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Mexico City manager Square Drive.
