With 10-8 Win, Thunderbirds Improve to 104-45
Carlos Saldaña was a major contributor to the 10-8 El Paso win over Gitche Gumee. The Thunderbirds left fielder was 1-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. El Paso pitcher Hidehira Yamamoto got the win. He's now 14-9. Jesús Flores was tagged with the loss. Qian-fu Luo earned his 43rd save in 48 tries.

Saldaña contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for El Paso in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Saldaña took a fastball from Jesús Flores and stroked the home run to right. His 20th home run of the season allowed the Thunderbirds to leap in front, 6-3.

"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Saldaña.

El Paso is now 104-45, 31 games up in the Americas Baseball League North American Division.
