Beefs Win, Steinem gets 3 RBI
A good performance from first baseman Joris Steinem helped the Chicago Beefs defeat the El Paso Thunderbirds, 10-4. Steinem went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Beefs. The win gives Chicago a season record of 78-78.

Chicago used a well-timed hit by Bernard Salle to capture the win. The shortstop socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Beefs ahead, 6-4. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Salle.
