7-2 Loss to Fitzies Extends Havana Losing Streak
|
The Gitche Gumee Fitzies got a strong performance from pitcher Gabir Ansari, who stymied the Havana offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Gitche Gumee Stadium. Havana has now lost 12 consecutive games.
With Gitche Gumee leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Ansari hit a 2-run single off Havana hurler Frédéric Bertrand. It was the 2nd hit of the season for Ansari and put his team ahead, 4-1.
"I'll be honest," said Ansari. "I was running on fumes at the end."
