Generals Prevail, 4-2, Over Oslo
|
Amin Mahir left his imprint on the 4-2 Rome win against the Oslo Voyageurs. Mahir, who finished 4th in the IBL in triples with 9 last year, went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs. Rome reliever Iman Kharoti was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Hermenegildo Perry took the loss. Tom Davis was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 18 save opportunities.
In the bottom of the sixth, Rome shortstop Justin Boughey put his team on top. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit his 12th double of the year. Oslo pitcher Hermenegildo Perry served it up. Just like that, the Generals were ahead, 3-2.
Mahir called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
Rome now has a record of 39-26 with the win.
