Santo Domingo Gets 7-3 Win Against Dolphins
|
Conditions were not ideal but Santo Domingo and Havana were able to put their game in the books.
Carl Carter was a vital contributor to the 7-3 Santo Domingo victory over Havana. The Palmchats left fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Gia-Long Hoang. His record is now 4-3. The right-hander went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits for the Palmchats.
The Palmchats got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Peng Chin. For the game, Chin was 1-2 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Santo Domingo a 3-2 lead.
Carter called the triumph "a good team win."
The Palmchats lead the Americas Baseball League Latin American Division by 5½ games.
