Rome Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Paris Fleur-de-Lis wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from starter Itbir Dini, falling 2-1 to the Rome Generals at The Colosseum. Rome reliever Tom Davis was the winner. His record is now 4-6. Timothy Adamczak took the loss. Rome is now 41-28, 7½ games up in the Intercontinental Baseball League Afro-European Division.
Rome won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Timothy Adamczak on the mound for Paris, first baseman Guo-qing Liu hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Generals fans to their feet.
"Every loss stings," said Paris manager Paris Rich. "This one is no exception."
